Among the great game reserves of the world, Chobe National Park is home to one of the largest concentrations of elephants on the African continent. Surrounded by wildlife management areas and reserves that allow game to roam freely, the reserve is located in the far north of Botswana, bordering on the Chobe River. Home to a variety of big game, Chobe is particularly well known for its large herds of elephant and buffalo, as well as the two antelope that cannot be encountered anywhere else in Botswana, the puku and Chobe bushbuck.

Well-used animal trails meander between five en-suite safari tents at Chobe Under Canvas, positioned at exclusive campsites in the northern reaches of the park, within driving distance of the Chobe River. Booked on a nightly basis, each canvas tent boasts a comfortable double bed, as well as an en-suite bathroom with a flush toilet and steaming hot bucket shower, with water delivered on request. The guest areas comprise of spacious tents for dining, pre-dinner drinks or simply whiling away the time between game drives with a good book and frosted beer or glass of wine. Safari TentsChobe under Canvas is equipped with 5 en-suite safari tents that can accommodate 10 people at a time. Each Safari tent has an en-suite bathrooms with flush toilet and steaming hot bucket shower. Twin beds have been placed in each tent but are convertible into double beds. Come an experience dining beneath open skies and easy access from Victoria Falls; ideal opportunity to create a cross-border itinerary. The campsites are not fenced off and it is requested that guests be extremely vigilant at all times. Guests are accompanied at all times when walking around the lodge at night. Botswana has hot, wet summers from October to April. Winters (from May to September) are dry and cool and nights can be chilly. Rainfall occurs from October or November until March. ActivitiesMorning and afternoon game drives. Game drives include beautiful views over the river, with very high densities of elephant, buffalo and hippo, as well as enormous crocodiles, lions, fish eagles, water monitors and black-backed jackal. Otherwise one can enjoy a private boat cruise on the Chobe River or a visit to the local community. Where is Chobe Under Canvas?The camp is situated in Chobe National Park but also moves to a different site within Chobe National Park every five or six days, ensuring that game drives constantly explore fresh areas. Scheduled flights to Kasane Airport, followed by a game drive to the camp, with game viewing en route. As per national park vehicle restrictions, it is not possible for guests to self-drive to the Chobe Under Canvas camps.
