Accommodation at Baines Camp Okavango Delta
Accommodation:
The en suite thatched lodge walls are built from recycled drinks cans
and elephant dungInside, however, it is tiled, whitewashed and elegantly
furnished in dark African wood, with embroidered hangings and animal-skin
rugs on the floor.
The four-poster beds are draped with mosquito nets and can be wheeled
on to the veranda for a night under a twinkling blanket of incredible
bright African stars, listening to the sounds of the bush
" The reeds rustled as an elephant glided his way slowly through,
just 20 metres from our sleeping area"
"morning traffic" consists of a chorus of mating frogs - a cacophony
of purrs, croaks, whirrs, whoops, hippos honking and elephants flapping
their ears.
Activities:
This area, situated on a private concession neighbouring the Moremi, is
superb for viewing all animal and bird species
Guests may explore by land and water, often into the night to discover
nocturnal species lions. The permanent water of the camp will reveal a
world of floating safaris, atmospherically silent at the gentle pace of
a poled mokoro (dug-out-canoe) excursion, or faster in a comfortable shaded
motorboat. (Subject to water levels.)
A myriad of waterways, feathery beds of papyrus, and animal species, large
and small, are waiting to be discovered
Sometimes there is no better way to tune into the bush than on foot, and
walking safaris is a speciality at Baines', with skilled, armed guides
introducing the area's natural wonders.
The choice of activities will not end there. The unique and educational
elephant interaction is available to guests at Baines'.
The only way to get to Baines camp is by air

intimate Baines Camp.
The drive reveals herds of antelope, buffalo, hartebeest, zebra and giraffe
The staff greets guests with an African song and plenty of smiles of welcome.
