The Pont Drift border post is open between 8:00am and 4:00pm and the border post adheres strictly to their times.
When the Limpopo river is flowing transfer across the river into Botswana is made by cable car at an additional cost (currently P35.00 per person one way). Cars can be left at the Pont Drift border post, and many lodges in the Tuli Block area will provide transfers to their lodges from the border post free of charge or for a small additional fee, please check when booking.
If guests wish to bring their vehicles into Botswana when the Limpopo River is flowing strongly, the crossing can be made by causeway at Platjan border post (currently open 06h00-18h00 but subject to change). Please note that the Limpopo River crossing at Platjan is on a 3 metre / 9.8 foot (approx.) wide causeway and if the Limpopo River is flowing too strongly, it cannot be crossed. In this case, the next alternative then is to drive down to Martin’s Drift.
